What does the beginning of tooth decay fell like?

Is it wise to be drinking tea with caffeine in it on a detox? i know white and green are quite low in it but it is still there. red tea is of course caffeine free.
Just another point to make about passing on the bad food. If you can avoid buying these items in the store, then you’re half way toridding them from your diet. It easier to pass these foods up in the store and not having them sitting in your fridge or pantry and tempting you.

hey i tried everything dieting, yoga ,exercise & everything.but no resultin weight loss.pls help
Of course I don’t know you and your situation at all so I’m just going to give you some general advice.
If you want to loose weight and keep that weight off you need to make changes in your lifestyle that you find ok enough to keep for a longer period.
Don’t focus too much on the scale. Measure and feel you body as well.
My recommendations are to eat healthier:
1. Drink a lot of water
2. Eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables
3. Stop eating when you are full
4. Always start you meal with fresh vegetables
And exercise more:
To loose weight you want to speed up your metabolism. To do this you need to choose exercises that makes your heart rate go up. Walking is an excellent, convenient and free exercise.
To get the most out of your exercise do it in the morning. You metabolism then stays high during the whole day. (You’ll burn more calories doing nothing for the rest of the day.)
Either exercise for 20 minutes in the morning or split it up and to 10 min in the morning and 10 around lunch time.
Do anything that you think is fun and convenient. As long as it makes you heart beat faster.
Walk, run, jump up and down, walk the stairs, do aerobics, bike.

I agree! I use chamomile tea with my two-month old to calm his fussiness and my nerves. At slightly above room temp and with a hint of maple syrup he’s off to sleepy land. Whooo and hooo! It works!
Conventional wisdom says that there is no cure for tinnitus. There are many other alternative tinnitus treatment methods that have been tried with regard to finding some relief for this debilitating condition known as tinnitus which affects about 50 million people in the US alone.
There are many alternative treatments for tinnitus options available to the tinnitus sufferer today:

8. Lifestyle: Tinnitus sufferers should exercise regularly to help increase blood supply to the head.
9. Massage: Massaging for tinnitus has been found to have some effect. Relief is obtained by using the thumb and index fingers to gently massage the earlobes and edge of the ears.

This is a great post – avocados and olives are some of my favorite foods, but I try not to eat them too often because of fat. You just changed my mind about that!

People on the internet read things fast and by scanning over your article what they see is “Eat fat” and be skinny, which is totally wrong and the problem (along with sedentary lifestyles) why there are so many overweight people. I found some cocoa-roasted almonds at Costco this week – they have just the slightest chocolaty coating, and are a very satisfying snack. Other than that, I eat lots of pistachios. Are they fattening?

You really need to eat natural raw nuts.
Cocoa-roasted almonds sounds very tasty. They are probably a lot better than many other snacks but only as a treat for every now and then.
I wouldn’t worry about the fat in the nuts you eat. We need fat but unfortunately our diets are filled with the wrong types of fat. Saturated fats from meat, dairy products and palm oil.
Pistachios are great, just make sure they are not salted.
Almonds are probably the best nut for you , but limit yourself to small amounts, 1 ounce a day is plenty. I have found beans to be a nice alternative to nuts, try different kinds, I like to mix several and they tend to satisfy my craving, i mean a pinto bean tastes kind of like a soft peanut.

Jim…what’s EEVO? Or did you intend to say EVOO, for extra virgin olive oil? I did a quick websearch for EEVO in case I’m missing some nutritional source, but came up with nothing pertinent to the discussion at hand, so decided to just ask you.
Love the snacks. They taste great and give you that full feeling faster than chips or other junk. For some of us though it’s a little hard to stop at a few nuts or one smear of the Avocado.
Keeping the crunches in the routine will also help.

Great idea! Isn’t funny how the simplest things in life are the most effective. I think this is why my parents always looked so young. They both had terrific posture and really stressed it in us girls. Also, sitting up straight makes you feel more energized and focused.

I am the Swedsish registered nurse running a laser clinic for more than ten years. I have been treating hundreds of patients suffering from tinnitus, hyperacusis, otitis, impaired hearing, vertigo, menieres disease and many other disorders. The results are indeed very good.
Recognition is being gained, but unfortunately too slowly. The resistence from school medicine is powerful and very few audiologists and ENT-doctors are willing to read through the scientific material supporting laser therapy for inner ear disorders and they have been even less interested in getting involved with the laser therapy tratment method that they once said couldn’t work. Today there are two published gold standard studies for tinnitus treatment using laser and those are supported by dozens of studies. There are also other gold standard studies like histological studies made on inner ear tissue.
Despite all those studies the Swedish Health Board and its ENT-doctors are still claiming that laser therapy on inner ear disorders is inscientific despite the fact that it is the best therapy available according to existing published scientific articles. The resistence is obviously still quite strong. But there are more and more clinics starting to use this method for the treatment of inner ear disorders.

How can they? Stuff you put ON your body isn’t nearly as regulated as stuff you put IN your body and the stuff you put IN your body is probably more important, not that this isn’t. The hormonal dance that goes on during development and throughout life is complicated and delicate.
I don’t believe that any company says things like, “This will make her look good, but it will f*** up her baby…” Complete long-term testing is also difficult, expensive, and not entirely error-proof. That said, I do think companies should be ethical enough to be ready to pull any product that can be shown to have certain side-effects.
Then there’s the ethical issue of testing on humans Vs rats.
I guess one answer is is to have several sources, beyond Gov and Corp PR, looking at and analyzing these products, but then you have the competitors who will lie about a product or company to push their product/agenda. So who can we really rely on for accurate info?

If you don’t like the taste of your fish oil then try an eskimo3 fish oil. It’s a naturally stable fish oil with a very smooth taste even without added sweeteners and flavors.

This article is all well and good but it promotes the exploitation and suffering of living creatures. Honey is made for bees by bees. Yet they are subjected to be left with mediocre replacement so the humans can selfishly take the honey the bees work hard to make.
There’s no need to use honey for medical uses, either. There is a great alternative that is exactly the same thing but without the bees involved. It’s called agave nectar and is only slightly sweeter than honey.
I’m all for animal rights but it is very hard for me to see why using honey would be bad. Especially since I use locally produced honey.
But then again I’m not a vegan.
I feel that the we have a much more important battle with the meat industry.
Both my father and grandfather were beekeepers, so I grew up with honey. Peanut butter and honey sandwiches were a staple. As was honey on toast, in coffee, and substituted for sugar whenever possible.
Natural honey can be hard to find. Most of what is found in the stores have been pasteurized. If it is liquid, it is crap. Honey tends to be solid at room temperature. It softens easily and buying a container of solid honey has all the above mentioned health benefits.
There are as many types of honeys as there are flowers. I grew up with sunflower, alfalfa, clover, buckwheat, and rape seed (canola) honeys. My favorites being sunflower and rape seed.
If you really want to enjoy the true benefits of raw honey, Find a beekeeper and buy directly from them. You will have the very best from the source, and avoid the middle man markups from the retailers.

LOL, so thats what the white fuzz was. I thought the guy sold me moldy tea leaves. Now I kinda regret tossing out my bag of tea. Oh well. But does this mean eating freshly picked buds or young leaves have even more good stuff?
I remember years ago I almost had a mobile office in my ‘pilots’ briefcase – it was really heavy and I used to walk along doing bicep curls with it (as long as no-one was watching!).
Who would have ever though eggs and honey could help us in our fight against acne. Sometimes, we have the solution right in front of us, or at least in our fridge. Thanks for the info.
What I love about Wii Fit or any of the sports games (skiing, bowling, etc.) is that my kids love it. They get to play video games and move their bodies. Even the singing and dancing ones are great because they get off the couch and MOVE.

The benefits for the alcohol, or more specifically wine, are more geared toward the benefit of the polyphenols in the grapes. However, the alcohol has always been a detriment to body systems, the liver as well as the brain.

I am thinking about starting a site that helps people learn to tan for those who have a hard time doing so. I have done a lot of research and also tryed out the things I discovered, with much much success. Anyway, before giving the advice you did, did you check it out at all? I would be concerned about giving some of the advice you did.
You can still protect your skin and get a great tan at the same time. And you left out so much important stuff that beginner tanners need to know. This post comes from my own experience. I’m the classic Scandinavian, blond, blue eyes with very pale skin. For me it was an eyeopener that I was able to tan without lotions which I really wanted to limit. At least before I found the certified organic version. In addition this happened when I moved to the US where the sun is MUCH stronger.
I’ve used the methods I describe in this post for years. And I’ve used it on my blond kids since they were babies.
Short regular exposure is the key. If we’re going to the beach for several hours in the middle of the day my kids wear sun protective clothing. Sure I have to keep on eye on their skin and if I see any reaction I put aloe vera on there from my plant. And do you know..my kids never had a sunburn. Neither did I after I started to tan this way.
Before I knew all this I just put on sunscreen and went out in the sun, then I got burnt on regular basis.

Obviously worth trying. I was reading an article on how Lemon can make you lose weight, and wasn’t sure how spinach pill will make one lose weight. What nutritional value does it have? I’ll like to read more review on the product.
Spinach is good, healthy food. But what is new about this diet pill is that is regulates your appetite. The thylakoids in spinach signals to your brain that you are full. As opposed to sugar that will signal that you need more.
As long as we’re hungry dieting will be painfull and we’re less likely to succeed.
I haven’t seen the results from the last tests of the product yet. But I’m keeping an eye on it. And I have an upcomming article on this subject.

Strange that baking soda whitens teeth! The typical formulation at the dentist is to use a peroxide solution, which isn’t acidic or basic at all. On an interesting related note, like this post says, some fattiness around the waist has turned out to be a better predictor of type 2 diabetes than overall body overweightedness. I don’t think it’s understood why this is, but perhaps fatty stuff around one’s waist shows that the body is storing the fat in a particular way that is predictive of diabetes.
Recently, the mercury levels in fish have led people to worry about eating fish. Some people do not like swallowing liquid fish oil directly from the spoon,because it taste terrible! Careful when using baking soda because as you said it can destroy enamel which never be restored since our body cannot properly replace it. I’m not sure if baking soda in your toothpaste is the best option for whitening your teeth because over a long period of time, the enamel will eventually break down. Just a warning.

I have been following some of the regimes on this blog for healthy eating and fitness. I can say most of the posts here are really helpful especially with a very good balance on exercise and eating.
I do take Omega 3 and have realised how much it does replenish lost vitamins from our hectic day to day activity.
I wonder how much exposure to these derivatives its actually harmful? I have to imagine you would need to be constantly exposed to a certain amount to actually have harmful effects.

Sourdough is fantastic. I make my own sourdough bread from scratch. I freeze my homemade sourdough base and just take it out before it’s time to bake. Hmm. I should probably post my favorite recipes here. There is nothing like homemade bread.

That is great but is your neck still ok or is it stiff again? It would be interesting to know if this is something that only works for a couple of weeks, or if really works.
My personal story is different. I have had type 2 diabetes since 1980s. This year my doctor doubled my medication and said if this didn’t work I would have to go onto insulin. Since I am a truck driver, that is not an option. I looked into raw food and decided to give it a try. The surprise is I LOVE THE FOOD! I am still learning and adapting, but my blood sugar came down from 332 in January without meds to 114 this week without meds for 3 days! I eat a huge salad every day and usually a green juice, but they almost always have fruit and fats. This myth about fats being bad is just that! I eat at least one avocado a day and my middle is disappearing! We use a recipe program that shows us exactly what nutrients we are getting, including B12 from nutritional yeast and other B vitamins from bee pollen. My breakfast usually consists of a smoothie made of bananas, nut butter, molasses, nutritional yeast, bee pollen, ground raw cacao and filtered water. It tastes amazing and keeps me full for hours of unloading freight! My doctor is elated and my test results are: a 40 point drop in cholesterol, drop in A1C, perfect blood pressure, a 25 lb. weight loss, I no longer have any allergies or asthma, my bunyon fell off, I no longer take joint supplements, and it has only been since mid-february ‘09! I now want to exercise! My energy level is through the roof! I say if you want to have no energy, be dependent on prescription or other drugs, and generally feel lousy all the time… then raw foods is not for you. Otherwise, why would you not try it? I have have problems with my neck in the past because of a inappropriate sleep position and bad pillow, but from one year I sleep without pillow and I feel great.
If you get a stiff neck from swimming try to change your exercise routine. Swim on you back as well. Do something totally different when you exercise and stretch out your neck after swimming.

Milk is a very personal choice that many people have strong feelings about.
Personally I use a lot of rice milk, oats milk when I can get my hands on it and organic cows milk. For pancakes I usually combine 2 different milks, for example half rice milk and half organic cows milk.
Mosquito nets are great but not very practical if you are outside moving around. I use Buzz Free personal spray and it works really well. It won’t last all day but usually long enough for me.

When I sleep at least 8 hours per night I feel healthy, but if I’m eating before to go to bed, I can sleep only 5-6 hours and I feel healthy and full of energy.

The calcium and magnesium is yoghurt and banana can help your body relax and fall asleep faster. I regular eat a banana before going to bed. I never noticed that it let me sleep less.
But I have small kids so I’m continously sleep deprived .
It is really too bad that most companies focus on selling us cremes, and other things to work on the inside when something as simple as making sure that you eat right can make more of a difference.

I haven’t experience yet and I wish I don’t get a stiff neck. Maybe, the best thing to avoid this is to recall your sleeping position habit. If you experienced stiff neck on a certain sleeping position then avoid that sleeping position. Just my opinion.

Tomato needs to be boiled with oil to let its Lycopene spread out, otherwise, you only got its Vatamin C. So I always perfer the Chinese way of cooking tomato, with is boiled with eggs to make a soup, quite tasty. YOu should try! First, fry the tomato with oil, then water, then putting the eggs.
All tea is good, Green tea is my great friend, while red tea, I haven’t tried them more often, base on your info, I would also like to try some. Anyway, thay are better than coffee.
I’ve had a share of stiff necks myself. And believe me, you don’t want to have it. I’ve had a severe case once that I really couldn’t move my neck, and that I feel that my head’s going to snap out of its place if I move it. But, hot compress and massage helps alleviate the pain.

I woke up like that one morning but I just turned my head slowly, slowly and very carefully in one direction and then the other. At first you couldn’t actually see me move. I think it took me somewhere between 30 min and 1 hour before my neck was back to normal again. But it worked.
For me, the major advantage is that it is free of toxins. For others it might be the natural whitening that gives it an advantage over regular toothpaste.

That’s a great post about the Nail care, i usually type a lot so i need to keep my nails shorter. Although my nails are healthy i wanted to get rid of that yellowish tint on it, but i guess my answer lies in your tip of using Lemon for exfloiation, should i use it regularly for getting rid of it ? or just doing it once will work? Walking is in fact more benefitial to your body than most people realize. I strongly suggest walking routine as a way to stay in shape and keep your heart healthy. Pedometers are a great help to making you walk more. I personally know many people who included walking exercise in their daily routine after they got pedometer. I love peanut butter on wholemeal bread. I am vegetarian so have to make sure i am getting enough protein from things like seeds and nuts. There are some good ideas here for high protein foods.
When i eat out, i think of it as a treat, and not something that i do very often…so i tend to forget about the diet and just have what i want…then i go to the gym the next day!
Its true, the bigger your bowl or plate, the more food you put on it…and the more you eat. Its hard to make the change though, after a hard day at work, you tend to want your normal BIG meal!
I love my greens, especially spinich. I have oatmeal and hot water for breakfast everyday, i find it helps keep my energy levels up all morning, and helps me concentrate more on work.
I have lots of berries in the hedgrows at my house, they usually go mostly to waste, as we cannot eat all of them. Next season i will definately make a plan to pick and freeze them.

I don’t know whether or not it is a coincidence, but whenever I’ve drunk it late in the day, I’ve had difficulty getting to sleep. Does it contain any stimulants? Caffeine free does not mean stimulant free, does it?
Very honestly after reading your flat belly title i got very tempted to actually go through your article…. As i read i found out that its not really easy for a obese to go for SNACKING as you say.it will turn out as u suggested it will because whatever you have asked to eat that is fiber is sometimes difficult to figure out.

I use them sometimes too but not a lot since they are expensive for what you get and loaded with sugar. But I must admit they taste good.
Some teas like Mate contain other stimulants but not rooibos. I have a hard time believing that it was the tea that made it difficult for you to fall asleep. There are many herbal teas that you can try that actually help you relax and fall asleep.
Well i still don’t understand how energy drink can energize your day? It is still a liquid, how it can give energy to a person. However, I tried Red bull for the first time, but it wasn’t effective. I will try Berry Radical too.

Is it wise to be drinking tea with caffeine in it on a detox? i know white and green are quite low in it but it is still there. red tea is of course caffeine free.

Just another point to make about passing on the bad food. If you can avoid buying these items in the store, then you’re half way toridding them from your diet. It easier to pass these foods up in the store and not having them sitting in your fridge or pantry and tempting you.

Of course I don’t know you and your situation at all so I’m just going to give you some general advice.
If you want to loose weight and keep that weight off you need to make changes in your lifestyle that you find ok enough to keep for a longer period.
Don’t focus too much on the scale. Measure and feel you body as well.
My recommendations are to eat healthier:
1. Drink a lot of water
2. Eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables
3. Stop eating when you are full
4. Always start you meal with fresh vegetables
And exercise more:
To loose weight you want to speed up your metabolism. To do this you need to choose exercises that makes your heart rate go up. Walking is an excellent, convenient and free exercise.
To get the most out of your exercise do it in the morning. You metabolism then stays high during the whole day. (You’ll burn more calories doing nothing for the rest of the day.)
Either exercise for 20 minutes in the morning or split it up and to 10 min in the morning and 10 around lunch time.
Do anything that you think is fun and convenient. As long as it makes you heart beat faster.
Walk, run, jump up and down, walk the stairs, do aerobics, bike.

Alternative treatments for tinnitus
Conventional wisdom says that there is no cure for tinnitus. There are many other alternative tinnitus treatment methods that have been tried with regard to finding some relief for this debilitating condition known as tinnitus which affects about 50 million people in the US alone.

I found some cocoa-roasted almonds at Costco this week – they have just the slightest chocolaty coating, and are a very satisfying snack. Other than that, I eat lots of pistachios. Are they fattening?

You really need to eat natural raw nuts.
Cocoa-roasted almonds sounds very tasty. They are probably a lot better than many other snacks but only as a treat for every now and then.
I wouldn’t worry about the fat in the nuts you eat. We need fat but unfortunately our diets are filled with the wrong types of fat. Saturated fats from meat, dairy products and palm oil.
Pistachios are great, just make sure they are not salted.
Almonds are probably the best nut for you , but limit yourself to small amounts, 1 ounce a day is plenty. I have found beans to be a nice alternative to nuts, try different kinds, I like to mix several and they tend to satisfy my craving, i mean a pinto bean tastes kind of like a soft peanut.
Another really great snack is sprouted beans and peas. Try for example sprouted chickpeas (garbanzo bean). Sooo, good and soo healthy!

Great idea! Isn’t funny how the simplest things in life are the most effective. I think this is why my parents always looked so young. They both had terrific posture and really stressed it in us girls. Also, sitting up straight makes you feel more energized and focused.

Internal Ph, such as your blood, and external Ph, such as urine, are different things. The former is very difficult to change thanks to the body’s extensive buffering systems. Urine Ph can change and has little relation to the body Ph, but does relate to the type of foods one eats.

I am the Swedsish registered nurse running a laser clinic for more than ten years. I have been treating hundreds of patients suffering from tinnitus, hyperacusis, otitis, impaired hearing, vertigo, menieres disease and many other disorders. The results are indeed very good.
Recognition is being gained, but unfortunately too slowly. The resistence from school medicine is powerful and very few audiologists and ENT-doctors are willing to read through the scientific material supporting laser therapy for inner ear disorders and they have been even less interested in getting involved with the laser therapy tratment method that they once said couldn’t work. Today there are two published gold standard studies for tinnitus treatment using laser and those are supported by dozens of studies. There are also other gold standard studies like histological studies made on inner ear tissue.
Despite all those studies the Swedish Health Board and its ENT-doctors are still claiming that laser therapy on inner ear disorders is inscientific despite the fact that it is the best therapy available according to existing published scientific articles. The resistence is obviously still quite strong. But there are more and more clinics starting to use this method for the treatment of inner ear disorders.

How can they? Stuff you put ON your body isn’t nearly as regulated as stuff you put IN your body and the stuff you put IN your body is probably more important, not that this isn’t. The hormonal dance that goes on during development and throughout life is complicated and delicate.
I don’t believe that any company says things like, “This will make her look good, but it will f*** up her baby…” Complete long-term testing is also difficult, expensive, and not entirely error-proof. That said, I do think companies should be ethical enough to be ready to pull any product that can be shown to have certain side-effects.
Then there’s the ethical issue of testing on humans Vs rats.
I guess one answer is is to have several sources, beyond Gov and Corp PR, looking at and analyzing these products, but then you have the competitors who will lie about a product or company to push their product/agenda. So who can we really rely on for accurate info?

As they say Milk does the body good…pass it on.
I think that like most things drinking milk provides your body with a great deal of benefits not attainable by trying to take the separate pieces of it as a supplement. In other words the calcium, B12 work better when you get them from milk instead of pills.

I have oily skin and I think honey and egg white really work for my skin.
This article is all well and good but it promotes the exploitation and suffering of living creatures. Honey is made for bees by bees. Yet they are subjected to be left with mediocre replacement so the humans can selfishly take the honey the bees work hard to make.
There’s no need to use honey for medical uses, either. There is a great alternative that is exactly the same thing but without the bees involved. It’s called agave nectar and is only slightly sweeter than honey.

I think it’s important to see both sides.
Laughing is something I love to do. I laugh easily whereas my wife does not. If I can make her laugh, it means anyone else would think it was very funny. I can use her as a testing platform for any jokes I want to try out.
When cosmetic companies use terms like Natural or Organic, it may be just marketing. The way regulations are they can say pretty much what they want. It’s up to the consumer to study products on a case-by-case basis and decide whether they are acceptable.

You can still protect your skin and get a great tan at the same time. And you left out so much important stuff that beginner tanners need to know. This post comes from my own experience. I’m the classic Scandinavian, blond, blue eyes with very pale skin. For me it was an eyeopener that I was able to tan without lotions which I really wanted to limit. At least before I found the certified organic version. In addition this happened when I moved to the US where the sun is MUCH stronger.
I’ve used the methods I describe in this post for years. And I’ve used it on my blond kids since they were babies.
Short regular exposure is the key. If we’re going to the beach for several hours in the middle of the day my kids wear sun protective clothing. Sure I have to keep on eye on their skin and if I see any reaction I put aloe vera on there from my plant. And do you know..my kids never had a sunburn. Neither did I after I started to tan this way.
Before I knew all this I just put on sunscreen and went out in the sun, then I got burnt on regular basis.

Spinach is good, healthy food. But what is new about this diet pill is that is regulates your appetite. The thylakoids in spinach signals to your brain that you are full. As opposed to sugar that will signal that you need more.
As long as we’re hungry dieting will be painfull and we’re less likely to succeed.
I haven’t seen the results from the last tests of the product yet. But I’m keeping an eye on it. And I have an upcomming article on this subject.

On an interesting related note, like this post says, some fattiness around the waist has turned out to be a better predictor of type 2 diabetes than overall body overweightedness. Recently, the mercury levels in fish have led people to worry about eating fish. Some people do not like swallowing liquid fish oil directly from the spoon,because it taste terrible! If you don’t like the taste of it, fish oil capsules comes to the rescue! Fish oil capsule is a good solution if you do not like fish, while at the same time you want the benefits of EPA and DHA in your diet.
This is great advice, I’ve gone through a whole program of cutting out unnatural chemicals in my diet, and looking at the grooming products I use is the logical next step.
Fish oil should not taste terrible.
If it does you should not eat it. Even if you’re using capsules you should try to take a bite in one and taste the oil.
I’ve tried many different fish oils. And my 2 favorites are Emsiko3 and Nordic Naturals Fish Oil. What they both have in common is that they are natural, purified, stable fish oils.
They don’t taste bad. They don’t taste like candy. They taste like any oil. Just oily without any distinct flavor.

Careful when using baking soda because as you said it can destroy enamel which never be restored since our body cannot properly replace it. I’m not sure if baking soda in your toothpaste is the best option for whitening your teeth because over a long period of time, the enamel will eventually break down. Just a warning.

I have been following some of the regimes on this blog for healthy eating and fitness. I can say most of the posts here are really helpful especially with a very good balance on exercise and eating.
I do take Omega 3 and have realised how much it does replenish lost vitamins from our hectic day to day activity.
I wonder how much exposure to these derivatives its actually harmful? I have to imagine you would need to be constantly exposed to a certain amount to actually have harmful effects.

Sourdough is fantastic. I make my own sourdough bread from scratch. I freeze my homemade sourdough base and just take it out before it’s time to bake. Hmm. I should probably post my favorite recipes here. There is nothing like homemade bread.

Well thank you for this guide and tips on how to fall a sleep. I have serious problem with sleeping, sometimes I can not fall a sleep until 3-4 a.m. It is true that my lifestyle is not optimal and I smoke too much but I think that your list will help me to sleep.

Boy do I just love sourdough bread. I honestly doubt there is any bread much better. It’s especially good toasted with butter and jam. Yum.
I also try to eat other foods that are fermented such as yogurt, kefir, and kim chi. The probiotic bacteria in them does wonder for your health and strengthening your immune system

My personal story is different. I have had type 2 diabetes since 1980s. This year my doctor doubled my medication and said if this didn’t work I would have to go onto insulin. Since I am a truck driver, that is not an option. I looked into raw food and decided to give it a try. The surprise is I LOVE THE FOOD! I am still learning and adapting, but my blood sugar came down from 332 in January without meds to 114 this week without meds for 3 days! I eat a huge salad every day and usually a green juice, but they almost always have fruit and fats. This myth about fats being bad is just that! I eat at least one avocado a day and my middle is disappearing! We use a recipe program that shows us exactly what nutrients we are getting, including B12 from nutritional yeast and other B vitamins from bee pollen. My breakfast usually consists of a smoothie made of bananas, nut butter, molasses, nutritional yeast, bee pollen, ground raw cacao and filtered water. It tastes amazing and keeps me full for hours of unloading freight! My doctor is elated and my test results are: a 40 point drop in cholesterol, drop in A1C, perfect blood pressure, a 25 lb. weight loss, I no longer have any allergies or asthma, my bunyon fell off, I no longer take joint supplements, and it has only been since mid-february ‘09! People already know that we must keep our bodies healthy, but because people are conditioned to eat oily and fatty foods which they consider delicious, it is hard for them to give up eating processed foods that makes their bodies weaker because of all the accumulated toxics in their bodies.
I am glad that many health products are out in the market today, and many people are engaging themselves in advocating a healthy lifestyle. Hope that this movement be maintained in this age where most people are slaves of their tongue and other senses.
Probiotics are very important, I know many of us have read this a thousand times before, I hope that people become diligent and act on their health before its too late.
To think of beauty as something innate, to find beauty in everything; in flowers, in the sun, the stars, the children… to find that beauty helps soothes the anger, envy, and lust within us… that vision will free us from stress which is a big factor in having acne in our face.

My classmates at school are calling me Mr. Health Conscious because I don’t smoke and drink, and I am trying to become a vegetarian. When they are calling me Mr. H or Mr. Health, I take that as a compliment. I return a smile to then, a smile that I wanted to provoke them to be a health conscious individual like me.
I have seen many people who are suffering from different kinds of diseases and I don’t want to be like them. I know I can’t avoid it, but I need to make a change at an early age. A change in diet, and in lifestyle that my parents and my siblings could be proud about.

I always love summer, and the sun, and the beaches, but next summer when we go out for a vacation, I won’t bring no more beer and cigarettes. I would not bring bbq and fried chicken.
I am now starting a vegetarian diet and I am proud of it. I know my parents, siblings and friends are proud of me too.
I am also taking probiotic supplements as part of my diet. There is a big change in my mood when I started living clean. I am more happy and relax and I am planning to stay this way until the end.

I agree Stephanie a colon cleanse can really make a difference. Personally I use a probiotic superfood it keeps both me and my colon healthy
Garlic is great. I use it as much as I can in my cooking.
I also give my kids a little bit of probiotics everyday. I’ve found a good effective product that I add to their yoghurt. Most of the time the ready made grocery store versions have too little probiotics to have an effect.

Some people are so called non-responders. Exercise does not have an effect on their weight. So yes you food choices are very important.
I’m cutting down on my caffeine intake at the moment. I’ve started to drink rooibos tea as it doesn’t contain caffeine. I don’t know whether or not it is a coincidence, but whenever I’ve drunk it late in the day, I’ve had difficulty getting to sleep. Does it contain any stimulants? Caffeine free does not mean stimulant free, does it?

I started using those little bottles of good bacteria (actimel, yakult) And must say have noticed a massive improvement in my overall well being, not sure if its the placebo effect or something is actually going on in my belly, but am carrying on

My daughter has been using Proactiv for a while with mixed results. I am definitely going to have her try this out. Proactiv is expensive and has caused her to get a rash sometimes. I like your holistic approach.

I use them sometimes too but not a lot since they are expensive for what you get and loaded with sugar. But I must admit they taste good.
Some teas like Mate contain other stimulants but not rooibos. I have a hard time believing that it was the tea that made it difficult for you to fall asleep. There are many herbal teas that you can try that actually help you relax and fall asleep.
